Some people have the misconception that you can’t build muscle and lose weight at the same time. They are under the belief that these things have to be done at different times. While there’s no denying that it’s not easy to do both of these things at the same time, it is possible. The key is knowing what you need to do on a daily basis.

When people want to lose weight, it’s common for their first reaction to be to stop eating. While this seems like it can help you lose weight, it’s actually a technique that’s going to backfire. The reason this doesn’t work like people expect is because it messes up their metabolism. To lose weight, you actually need to eat on a regular basis. The key is to eat smaller amounts of healthy foods. If you’re trying to build muscle at the same time as losing weight, it’s absolutely essential that you eat every few hours to keep your metabolism high.

The other area where people struggle with doing both of these things at once is what they should do in the gym. In order to build muscle, you have to lift weights. However, you also have to give your muscles time to recover. As a result, the ideal balance is doing one weight lifting session in the gym, and then making your next session low impact cardio. Whether it’s walking on a treadmill or using an elliptical, low impact cardio will help you work on shedding pounds without putting too much stress on your body as your muscles are trying to recover.
